Be Patient & Consistent

Your Questions Answered
When will I feel the products working?
Generally, effects of topicals (ex. balms and creams) are felt within 15-30 minutes and last 4-6 hours, and effects of ingestibles (ex. chews, capsules) are felt within 15-30 minutes and last between 3-6 hours.
However effects are often cumulative, and while some people are fortunate to feel better on their first try, for others it may take 2-3 weeks (or longer) to experience the full benefits. Patience and consistency are key!
If, after a few weeks of consistent use and regularly increasing your dose, you’re not feeling better, it may be time to switch to a more potent product. Click here to learn more.

What happens if I take too much?
Feeling sleepy during the day or ”fogginess” upon waking up are the most common side effects of taking too much CBD. If this happens, take less the next time.
Less common unwanted side effects of CBD may include dizziness, dry mouth, and/or gastrointestinal (GI) distress. These are often a result of your body going back into balance, and go away with continued use.
Why does my friend take more than me?
Everyone’s tolerance to CBD-rich hemp is different, and not necessarily tied to things like body size, sex, or age.
Think of it like coffee: some people can have an espresso right before bed and go to sleep, others would be staring at the ceiling until 3AM. There’s not way to tell until we try.
That’s why we always recommend starting low and slowly increasing to find your personalized dose.
How will I know when I’ve found my optimal dose?
You’ll know when you’ve found your dosing “sweet spot” when:
- You’re feeling/sleeping/moving better.
- You’re not groggy during the day.
- You’re waking up feeling refreshed, not foggy.
It may take some time & patience, but remember that Kind Lab CBD-rich, plant-based products aren’t like taking a vitamin where you don’t necessarily feel the effects. If you’re taking the right product and are using it correctly, you should feel better.
And by “better”, we mean that the products have boosted your ability to live successfully in the mind and body you have today, so you can live your best life.

Dosing Basics
Your Practical Guide to Taking CBD
CBD Dosing Approaches
There are 2 approaches to using you CBD-rich ingestible:
- Standard dosing is taking a larger amount less frequently (ex. 1-2 times per day)
- Microdosing is taking a smaller amount more frequently (ex. 3-4 times per day)
Most people use the standard dosing approach, primarily because it’s easier to remember (ex. tying the dose to daily events, such as meals) and you don’t have to worry about your dose when you’re out & about. With this approach, use the serving size on the product label as a starting point, and go up/down from there as needed.
Microdosing is very useful, however, to those people who are very sensitive to CBD-rich hemp and experience unwanted sleepiness before they reach a dose that best supports them. Keeping levels in the body low decreases the chance of sleepiness by minimizing the CBD “peaks” in the body, while frequency ensure that levels stay consistent for optimal effects. With this approach, start with 1/4 the serving size on the label taken every 1-3 hours , and go up/down in dose or frequency as needed.
Getting Started
Once you’ve determined the best approach – microdosing or standard dosing – and your optimal time of day, start with the serving size on the label and follow the methodology outlined above.
For those following the standard approach, stay at the serving size dose for 2-3 days, then increase 1/2 to 1 serving size every 2-3 days as needed.
Often, experimenting during days where work/family/life demands are lower allows more flexibility.
Also, since a side-effect of taking too much CBD-rich hemp extract is sleepiness, staring a regimen at night can be beneficial (presuming wellness issues are not time-specific).
Keeping a journal of your experience is an excellent way to reflect on incremental progress along the way, and identify when you’ve met or exceeded your personalized dose.
Effects are often cumulative, and while some people are fortunate to feel better after one dose, for others it may take 2-3 weeks (or longer) to experience the full benefits. Patience and consistency are key.
And remember, the quantity and frequency of consumption is very personal – experiment to find what works best for you.
How to Take Your CBD
Concentrates: shake the bottle well, place the drops under your tongue, hold for 45 seconds, then swallow.
Chews: chew & swallow – easy enough! And don’t forget that you can bite them in half to really dial in on your personalized dose.
Capsules: swallow whole.
Managing CBD Taste
When it comes to taste, most people find capsules and chews the easiest route.
The Concentrates can be harder for some, with the taste becoming stronger with higher potencies. They’re generally well tolerated but if taste is an issue, click here for some ideas.
